Hi, I'm Luke. I run LPC.
I paint and I garden, for homes and for businesses. I do both because I'm fussy about both, and because most contractors only really do one.
CHAPTER 01 · 2008
I started painting when I was 17.
My uncle ran a small decorating outfit out of a lock-up in Grantham. I'd come along after school. Mostly carrying tins. Mostly listening. I learned that the difference between a good paint job and a bad one is almost entirely in the prep, and that nobody talks about prep.
CHAPTER 02 · 2018
Set up LPC.
Started taking on residential work first, full repaints, kitchens, exteriors. Word-of-mouth grew faster than expected, and within a year I was doing commercial work for cafés and offices on the High Street that wanted out-of-hours painters.
CHAPTER 03 · 2022
The gardens started by accident.
An old client asked if I'd take a look at her back garden after a big indoor job. "While you're here." I built her a path, planted a hedge run, and three of her neighbours asked me to do theirs. Now I do roughly the same volume of garden work as paint work, for homes and for business grounds.
CHAPTER 04 · Always
What I care about.
Showing up when I said. Sending a daily progress photo so you know where it's at. Leaving the place cleaner than I found it. Charging the price I quoted. None of this is heroic, it's the bare minimum, and you'd be surprised how often it isn't met.
3 RULES I WON'T BREAK
No surprises. Ever.
The quote is the price.
No "while we're here" charges. No "we hit something" surprise costs. If we miss something on the survey, that's our problem.
Daily progress photo.
You don't need to be home, but you'll know where it's at. WhatsApp message at the end of every working day.
Cleaner than found.
No paint splatters, no drop sheets left behind, no debris. The job isn't done until your space is your space again.
WHERE I WORK
Grantham + 30 miles.
I deliberately stay local. Travel time eats the day, and I'd rather spend it on the job than in the van. Domestic clients across the villages, commercial accounts on the High Street, the business parks and the surrounding industrial estates.
